Making Photocopies with Casper in the Land of Wonder!

Yesterday afternoon, I went with my friend Casper (not the friendly ghost one…the one who is alive and kicking) to the Land of Wonder, where fax machines and dry erase markers play around together in glee, and laptop computers zwiddle desperately about willy-nilly.  It is safe to say that it was a happy place.

We got there with little time to spare, but determined in the joyous fun to share!  First, we went to talk to the photocopying machines.  We asked them nicely if they could produce some transparencies for us, and what we had to give them in exchange.  They agreed to take our pennies and make what we needed.  While that was happening, we actually had a conversation with one of these wonderful machines:

“Hello Dilbert (the name of this particular machine).  How are we today?  I just looove your fashion sense!  The square look is coming back in style and you carry it off very well.  You do look ‘tress chick’!! (*grins*) You just wreak with taste!! Please tell us what makes you so happy that you spend all day buzzing with glee. We want to buzz with glee too!!!”

And Dilbert answered, “Well you see, I am usually not as co-operative as people think I am.  I really wanted to be a florist!  But alas, (*sigh*) I was made into a copying machine, and after many sessions of therapy, I am beginning to accept it.  However, I do have my moments when people try to use me, if they are not nice to me, instead of giving them copies of what they want, I give them pictures of flowers instead.  Now, the one thing that humans do not realize is that kicking me in protest does not do anything for or to me.  I cannot feel pain, and have no sense of emotion, but I do have a mind of my own.  You two boys have been nice to me, and you have actually talked to me, which I appreciate, so I will give you are copies as you desire them.”

We had just had a conversation with a photocopying machine, just in case you are just now tuning in.

Then, Casper and I zwiddled desperately through the isles looking for dry-erase markers.  We passed the laptop computers who were also zwiddling desperately, and they were amused at our zwiddlings.  We zwiddled together for a few minutes. It was fun!!!  You know, you all should really try zwiddling sometime, but I digress. We found the dry-erase markers tripping along friskily through the meadow, trying to fly.  When they saw us, they all ran.  So, armed with our butterfly nets, we ran after them, and caught four.  Of different colours no less!  TWO OF THEM WITH PIGTAILS!!! Oh what luck!!!! We exchanged our pennies, and then, it was time to exit this land of wonders and re-enter the real world.  I wept and sobbed, only to be comforted by my friend Casper, who said, “Chins up buddy! We will come back some day.  I promise!”

Alas, my liver, my liver faints, flounders, and yearns to return to this place!!  I went back with Casper to school but with heavy bosom and sad ear lobes. We hurried back to attend our friend Jimminie’s recital.  He did sing well!  It was a wonderful evening.  Seeing him traipse unto the stage, and open his mouth and emit such strains was a very pleasant experience, and soothing to my sad and aching right kidney.  Though my spleen is still back in the Land of Wonder, and my nose hairs tingle at the thought of returning, I know that all will be well, and that someday, we will be back.

Moi

NOTE:  The word ‘zwiddle’ can be found in my blog on Neologism (refer to archives).  I think you will find it most interesting.

‘Tress chick’ means ‘trรจs chic’ in french.
